Your Donation Matters!
By making a donation to the Central Park Artists organization, you can make a contribution to the cultural life of Central Park and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Your gift will help us as we continue our mission to promote the arts through shows, education, workshops, programs, and more.
Most important, our premiere event, Open Studios, remains free and open to the public thanks to donations from generous supporters like you. This two day event held each year during the last weekend in September is the perfect opportunity to allow the public to meet artists and observe demonstrations, works in progress, and finished art pieces.
You make a difference. Thank you.
Did you know you can support Central Park Artists (Denver) through your IRA?
It’s a tax smart way to give back to your community.
Residents 70 ½ and older can support local nonprofits––like Central Park Artists (Denver)–using a special type of tax-free donation from their IRA. It’s called a Qualified Charitable Distribution, or QCD, and it’s one of the most powerful charitable giving tools available.
If you are 73 or older and required to take Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from your IRA each year, a QCD can also help meet that requirement while reducing your taxable income.
This is a wonderful way for local supporters to strengthen the arts in our community while also benefiting from meaningful tax advantages.
How to Make a QCD
Making a QCD is easy:
Contact your IRA custodian (Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, Edward Jones, etc.)
Ask them to issue a Qualified Charitable Distribution to:
Central Park Artists (Denver)
2373 Central Park Blvd., Suite 100, Denver, CO 80238
EIN: 30-0959922The custodian sends the check directly to the nonprofit.
This process keeps the donation tax-free and ensures it qualifies as a QCD.
QCD & RMD Donation FAQ
What is a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)?
A QCD is a donation made directly from your IRA to a nonprofit organization. It is excluded from taxable income.
Who can make a QCD?
Anyone age 70½ or older, even if you are not yet required to take RMDs.
Does a QCD count toward my Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)?
Yes. If you are 73 or older, your QCD can satisfy part or all of your RMD for the year.
How much can I donate?
Up to $100,000 per year per individual (higher limits apply for married couples filing separately).
Do I get a tax deduction?
No deduction is needed—the donated amount is simply not taxed at all, which is often more advantageous.
Can I donate from a 401(k)?
Not directly. You would need to roll the funds into an IRA first.
Does the donation have to come directly from the IRA?
Yes. Your IRA custodian must issue the QCD check directly to the nonprofit.
Can a QCD be used to pay for tickets, classes, or anything with benefits?
No. QCDs must have no exchange of goods or services.
What information do I give my custodian?
